I’m a writer and career administrative assistant looking to try something new. I’ve been fascinated by blogging and bloggers for years, but never felt like I had enough expertise in a topic to toss my hat in the ring. Now in my 40’s, a student again in a Master’s degree program, I’m at a place in my life where I feel confident in putting myself out there whether I am an expert or not. I have a lot of opinions, a sometimes overwhelming amount of interests, and now a platform to talk about it. A reason to do more than ask a question and never go beyond to research and write about it (unless it’s for a class).

Over time I’m sure I will find a niche that I am more comfortable writing in, but for now I anticipate the main themes will be writing, travel, history, and my freelance journey.

You’ll notice I also have a page called “Freelance Writer for Hire” where you can read about my fledgling business and rates. The “Portfolio” page will have links to my published work (when I have some!) and relevant writing samples from my classwork. I’m looking forward to the day when I can take the samples down because I have more than enough published work to showcase my writing!

In addition to writing blog posts I will be creating the headers using my own photographs. Most of the pictures used will be taken with my trusty camera phone. 

I expect to post weekly (to start) with a teaser picture added to my Instagram every Monday.

And so ends my first blog post. This is so exciting!
