In Which Evil appears to be winning while Good eats a cookie
I don’t actually feel like a failure, but I also don’t feel like I did my best, so I’m calling a draw on the week.
And yes, I did eat a cookie. Or two.
I stuck a little better to my improved diet, but spent my free time not journaling or studying Italian like I wanted to, which would help with improving my mental state, but vegging out on the couch scrolling on my phone or tablet before bed. All the while feeling guilty for not doing what I had wanted to, but still not doing it.
Not at my best there, but I am determined to do better this week.
Planning ahead for some things does help, for example, before sitting down to write this post I baked a batch of breakfast cookies with blueberries and pre-made lunch for 3 days. This helps me in two ways: if I wake up late it doesn’t take long to grab a cookie and banana for breakfast and my lunch is ready in the fridge for my lunch bag, and deciding what to eat is done ahead so if I don’t sleep well (the norm lately) I’m not making bad/easy choices because I’m tired.
So here’s to a better week by making better choices!
