I started this blog as part of the Freelance Writing class for my degree. I have always wanted to work as a freelance writer, but I have so many interests that I haven’t been able to narrow down the list to find my niche, an important part of keeping a blog or website. Because of that, my ideas for each post are scattered and across so many random topics that it makes it difficult to think ahead sometimes. Okay, most times. And that means I am not giving this blog the time and attention it deserves.
The Capstone project I am working on involves fandom, filming location, and history and will be a web ‘zine with long, medium, and short articles about a few of my past trips, virtual tour fun, and photo highlights. I love fandom (so many fandoms) and travel. When I return from trips I always dig into the histories of where I visited but don’t always share the fruits of my research. That needs to change.
I think I would like to start working towards that here. Maybe just writing about the places I love in the Lehigh Valley and sharing more photos from my walks around town because I ALWAYS take pictures when I’m out and about. And then find a fandom angle to work towards.
Originally I wanted to write about writing, but I need to get back into the habit before I will feel in any way qualified to share what I have learned. With regular classes finished, I’d like to get back to reading for fun, so maybe I’ll try my hand at a review or two. The sky is the limit.
So, please bear with me a little longer while I make changes here and there as I figure out how to use WordPress more effectively, and work on finding my niche regarding content.
Thank you, and take care everyone.
