Picture Post: Giant’s Causeway

Giant’s Causeway is a natural 60-million year old basalt rock formation in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is part of the National Trust, and was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1986. The rocks are massive, polygonal columns that visitors can walk and climb on, touch and experience against the dramatic backdrop of the North Atlantic.

(I say dramatic because the day of my visit was a bit wacky weather-wise. Watched a storm come in over the water and eventually drench us all. Umbrellas were useless against the winds. My raincoat only kept me half-dry. It was awesome!)
